A Disappointing Event I am writing this week’s newsletter from Conwy Golf Clubs clubhouse. And another disappointing event I am afraid. Coming into the week full of confident and enough practice rounds to know every blade of grass here. I could only manage a +8 total after rounds of 78 & 74, finishing 9 shots behind the winner Mark Pilkington. For the Welsh National Championship, Lyndon as always was great on the bag, despite the frustration, he stayed positive and kept me in the tournament until the very last hole. Jenna was also there supporting for all three rounds, not sure if she enjoyed it and at times would say “I could do better”. I must thank Alison Barber, Mike Barber and Paul Brown for playing in my Pro-Am team before the championship on Monday, we scored 68 points as a team in tough conditions and finished in 11th place. I don’t think Alison will be rushing to play another Pro-Am after having to play Conwy off the men’s yellow and even some holes were off the men’s white tees. But she did great and battled to the end. Well done Alison. |
